The symbol of home occupies an important and ambiguous place in art therapy. It is not only a concrete building in which a person lives. It can be a symbol of a person's personal experience, of self-discovery, of family relationships, of communication and cooperation with others, of the national and cultural characteristics of a country, a nation or a people... Drawing a house helps to clarify relationships between children. After such creative activities, the causes of relationship problems are also revealed to everyone together.  Sigita Koroliovė, a teacher at Klaipėda Litorina School, sensing that disagreements were becoming more and more frequent among her pupils, suggested drawing a house. Special Gymnasium and Lyceum of Athens Erasmus + Special Education Students Overcome Obstacles With Art Therapy.

The Lithuanian team presents an interpretation of puppetry and drama therapy - mini-performances with puppets made by the students to help compensate for communication disorders, overcome the fear of speaking, learn Lithuanian grammar and understand the meaning of folk art.

The integrated Lithuanian language and music lesson "Lithuanian Dialects" is a great demonstration of how music helps children with special educational needs to learn and succeed.   The educational programme "The Sound of a Miracle" provides knowledge about harmony, listening and self-knowledge, and motivates to live! The programme helped children with special needs to relax, feel and even see and touch sound! For teachers, music therapy helps them relax from emotionally demanding work. 

ROMANIA The project "Special Education Students Overcome Obstacles With Art Therapy” in Romania went beyond the school walls. In February, an international conference for the deaf and blind, organized by the NGO Sense International, showcased art therapies and their impact on the mental and physical well-being of students. 

 LITHUANIA Play therapy was introduced in Greece in various forms. The Klaipėda Litorina School introduces a digital board game for the Lithuanian language to motivate and interest children in the subject. 

In November, the Special Gymnasium Lyceum of Athens invited us all to take a trip on a train. A train - to be exact - that is rolling through Europe and spreading the influence of art therapy, as well as inspiring pupils with special needs to socialize and integrate within the society. The representatives from Greece have chosen to present the games therapy method. A method that has successfully been applied in their school. The first day of the meeting has been delegated to sports games. Colleagues from Greece give great attention to sports. This is not only due to the fact that Greece is the capital of the Olympic Games but also because the therapy method inclusive of sports games plays a major role in the education of pupils with physical disabilities at the Special Gymnasium Lyceum of Athens.
